The hell who texted me?!
A mysterious online DJ known as Gene is gaining popularity in AGHS and Gentaro wants to befriend him. Meanwhile, the Capricorn Zodiarts was awaken and wants to be a guest on Gene's popular radio show! Anyways, who is this Gene?
The identity of Gene was given in the earlier minutes of the episode, it was JK. To put it simply, this is a JK focused episode, something we didn't have after his first character focus arc last year. Before talking about JK in this episode, we now have a new opening sequence now featuring college Miu and Shun and a happy Ryusei! You can check some images coming from the new opening sequence from this album from our Facebook page.
Back to JK, we learned his dream, to be a rock star something he can't become because he is bad in singing and that his friend is bad in playing the guitar. Speaking of his friend, Gotou aka God happens to be the Capricorn Zodiarts and wants to fulfill their old middle school dream together thanks to his abilities as a Zodiarts that can make music sound good! This is where the fun begins, what will JK do? Continue on pursuing his dream or stick with his high school buddies in saving the world?
Aside from the ability in making bad music sound good, his ability can help amplify the abilities of near Zodiarts Switches and can use music as his weapon. Though the use of music as weapon sounds cool, Capricorn sucked in using the guitar as his weapon. Seriously, if Kamen Riders Todoroki and Zanki can properly use the guitar as a weapon, why can't Capricorn do it right?
Because of the combo of Gene and God, their music caused their listeners to overwork themselves, causing Yuki, Tomoko and Kengo to overwork in their rock rendition of the Hayabusa-kun song! It was fun seeing these two rock their hearts out and Kengo go a bit out of character while playing the drums. It was really entertaining. Because of what happened to these three, JK is having second thoughts about teaming up with Capricorn. This is when conflict introduced earlier in the episode comes to play.
But first, let's clear things up a little bit, later in episode, Gentaro discovered that JK is Gene and after what happened to his friends, Gentaro asked JK to stop his radio show. Now that everything is clear, this is where the fun begins. At the end, JK went with chasing his dream rather than take care of his friends. I was mixed with JK's decision in chasing his dream rather than choose his friends. First, if I was JK, I will grab every opportunity just to fulfill my dream but if I see the effect my music is making to my friends, I might have second thoughts about it. Will I continue with my dream or stop it?
Because of JK deciding to leave the Club, Kamen Rider Fourze Cosmic States starts to become wonky and for no reason at all; his form was cancelled and reverted back to Fourze Base States. By the looks of it, this form is powered by friendship. One thing to note in the episode was the names JK and Gotou used, Gene and god. Gene sounds like Jin, the family name of Keisuke aka Kamen Rider X. Meanwhile, God or should I say, G.O.D. (Government of Darkness) was the organization Kamen Rider X fought; very sneaky Toei in terms of Kamen Rider X references, very clever.
